Dentist Office

BUILT PROJECT / These offices, shared by children’s speech therapy and dentistry practices, are located in a 1500 square foot space in Rome, Italy. The main entrance, where patients are welcomed and wait for their visits, is designed with a system of ribbons along the interior walls to create a unified spatial experience. The ribbons smoothly articulate into the different functional elements of the office: the reception desk, benches, planters, magazine shelves, and stairs, and extend in waves up to the illuminated ceiling. The waves collide in domed areas that feature artificial skylights. At the apex of the space, a stairway leads to an elevated floor with restrooms and the doctors’ private offices.
